The Thermoforming Process
Our solid surfaces are made through the thermoforming process. This process is broken down into five key steps.
Preparation
Everything that’s worth doing is worth preparing for. In this case, preparation means finalizing the design, shape, and then deciding which temperature the material you have chosen needs to be heated to.
Process
Next comes the actual heating and shaping process. One the acrylic solid surface has been heated to a sufficient temperature, it is taken out of the thermoforming oven and placed onto a custom build mould to take it’s final shape.
Cool Down
Once it is in shape it will need to cool down. This process cannot be sped up, as that could result in cracking.
Finish
Once the solid surface is cooled, it’s time to fabricate and finish the final product. This includes sanding and polishing the surface and the edges.
Installation
Once it is at your site, we will install it professionally and securely, so that your surface can be enjoyed for decades.
